Welcome to the website of our "network for comparative economic development studies”!
Founded in 2015, our network aims at connecting graduate and postgraduate work among nine participating universities in developing countries/emerging markets (Argentina, Brazil, China, India, Mauritius and South Africa) and Germany on the topic of comparative economic development studies.
It is our firm conviction that much can be learnend about economic development by rigorously comparing development and policy experiences between different countries. As such a comparison can only be done successfully with an in-depth-knowledge of the concerned countries' institutions, cross-border cooperation between researchers is a necessary condition for such an inquiry.
The aim of our network is hence to help students, junior and senior researchers to develop contacts and build a common framework for such research projects. Moreover, we aim at developing a common framework for learning from best practices in graduate and post-graduate teaching.
For the years 2015 to 2018, the network was supported by a grant of the DAAD-Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (German academic exchange service).
On this website you can find information on the projects activities, the universities of the network and teaching material.
